The Sophia Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded by Cassandra Light in 1995. Cassandra is a relationship and grief counselor, teacher, published author, mythological scholar, sculptor, and single mother. Her practice is based upon her 25 years of counseling children, families, abused women, and terminal cancer patients. Cassandra is internationally recognized for her work as a counselor and her teachings of personal transformation at Way of the Doll, a school she founded in 1980. Her book published in 1996, Way of the Doll: the Art and Craft of Personal Transformation, is the standard reference text used by teachers and students around the world. To learn about her work, visit Way of the Doll. From 1994 until 2003, Attorney Richard Glantz led Sophia as its chairman and legal counsel. In 2005, Attorney Henry Koltys assumed leadership of Sophia, as chairman and legal counsel, expanding its purpose to include children and families in transition. |
